Miles of suburbs that extend beyond the Columbus city limits surround the Ohio capital's towering high-rise buildings. Known for much more than its high-tech companies, this metropolitan area is a bubbling tourist destination with plenty of cultural attractions, dining options and recreational opportunities. Walk or bike the city's extensive park system, or venture outside Columbus to one of several nearby state parks and nature preserves, including Madison Lake, Alum Creek and Pickerington Ponds.
